Led by Gene Browne, at DTTS the focus is on delivering practical and fun 4WD driver training, farm vehicle use training and ATV driver training courses and real-world solutions that clients need for both on and off-road driving and related off road platforms such as quad bikes, side by side vehicles (LUVs) and tractors. We can also incorporate load security, trailers, and chainsaw/scrub-bar training options.

4WD Driver Training Courses
Our 4WD driver training courses are designed to produce a 4WD operator that can demonstrate the knowledge, skills and attributes for all essential areas of the units of competency covered under the full ‘best practice’ guidelines for 4WD operation in the workplace.
LUV Training Courses
The LUV driver training course is for Light Utility Vehicle (LUV or side by side) operators so they can demonstrate the knowledge and skills for all essential areas of the units of competency covered under the guidelines for LUV driving in the workplace.
Quad Bike/ATV Training Courses
The quad bike training course is targeted specifically at quad bikes used in the workplace. This quad bike course enables the trainee to ride effectively and safely over varied terrain and meet best practice guidelines for quad biking in the workplace.
Tractor Training Courses
This tractor training course provides tractor driving lessons designed to produce an operator that has the knowledge and skills for all essential areas of the unit standards covered in this course, enabling the individual to drive a tractor effectively and safely in varied terrain.
Chainsaw & Scrub Bar Training
This chainsaw course/training is designed for an occasional chainsaw user. It is an introduction to chainsaw use and for the safe use of a chainsaw in a workplace. The course can be customised to incorporate specific company policies and procedures for chainsaw use.
Farm Vehicle Driver Training
The farm vehicle training course is designed to produce a farm worker that is competent to look after your various farm vehicles and can safely operate them. The course takes key practical and safety elements out of the various key NZQA courses and combines them into a single package.
Trailer Use-Load Security Courses
This course is good for commercial contractors, farm workers, or any industry that expects their workers to tow trailers. We provide a practical training solution to ensure staff safety within the bounds of best practise. Let us help simplify this for you and make a practical difference.
Open Spaces Mowing Training Course
People accredited with this open spaces mowing unit standard are able to: select and prepare mowing equipment and machinery, carry out worksite preparation and safety checks, operate a mower to mow reserves and roadside vegetation, and carry out post-operational procedures.
Specialist Driver Training Courses
Specialist courses are offered for various industries and include training for heavy 4WD, forestry driving, defensive driving (on and off road), sand driving, fitting and using tyre chains and health and safety. We also offer staff driving assessments and accident investigation services.
